This is a storm boss in High Road that has no team up. I take forever to set up so this was a bit frustrating because I defeated the boss and had the minion down to 900 before the game gave it critical on centaur to zero me. Does anyone have tips on what his attacks are and what a good strategy to quickly take him out are?

Defeat the minion first. Almost always, you should take the weakest one down first so that you're not taking hits from two different enemies.

That's the best advice I can offer.

Would've been good if you posted your school.

But generally, you would want to attack with the sole intention of bringing the minion down and leaving you 1V1 with the boss.

Charm up and use effective wards and use a well enchanted AoE. This AoE should be enough to dispatch the minion, if not, follow up with another.

Don't try going about it aiming the boss first, that's probably exactly what he wants you to do while the minion meticulously takes down your health.
