Castle Block floors

When working off grid of the dorm, I find a problem laying down items that the blocks we place in the air, is there a way to fix this glitch so that the blocks accept all the furniture or plants we place on them? Thank you.

i find that placing a floor under the floor you are building on temporarily helps. especially on walls and stuff.
