um.... isn't that the SAME thing that happened in harry potter?
The game outright says in the beginning that the Wizard you play as comes from a place where they don't believe in Magic, possibly Earth. I dunno if they're concerned about the where abouts of their Child but that would be too morbid for Wizard.
In the beginning of the gameplay / storyline, you can see that Ambrose hints that you're from a " place that does not believe in / know of magic. " With this in hand, I think it's fair to assume that you were called upon / brought to the wizarding world, whilst your parents remained on earth.
