I was doing the quest in the iron works and telported out to help a friends. when i went back the first gate was closed and i couldnt talk to baxter. what can i do to get back on track?
The Ironworks is a dungeon. You left the dungeon, you will need to start it all over again.
Logging out, leaving through the Dungeon entrance, going to another dungeon, playing a Mini-game, going to a PvP or Derby match, or going to your home will reset the Dungeon.
Leaving any other way gives you 30 minutes to return before the Dungeon resets.

If you have a friend with you, but just YOU port out, you can port back to your friend and your dungeon will start where your friend is.
