Pet Requirements usually are solely based on it's trainer; that is; you.
So, if you're the type to prefer a highly defensive pet such as the common Ward Pet which provides defensive resistances in various schools cultivated by it's trainer or a more offensive pet such as one giving only offensive talents is solely based upon you.
